Is it normal for a memory foam mattress to feel damp after it is unwrapped?

Single mattresses faq’s:
Is it just a memory foam mattress and it is the age Puff format and it feels wet. . . Is this normal?

    That does happen sometimes, when i got mine it felt damp. Wait awhile and see what happens, if its still like that send it back to wherever you got it.

    Memory foam does feel damp doesn’t it? I recently tried a lot in the bed showrooms and they all felt like that. I think it’s because of the texture of the foam and the fact that it’s usually a cold surface, so feels damp. If you have any questions, phone your bed specialist or the mattress provider and ask them if it’s usual – I imagine it’s a common issue and I bet they have some good advice/reasons. Some info below… :-)

    The mattresses nearly always, 99.999% of the time go back to their original shape. Memory foam can have a moist or sometimes clammy feel.
    Should not be wet.
    Only thing I can think of Condensation can form from a cold mattress trapped in closed plastic bag and then set into a warm room, cold air trapped in plastic makes this possible.
